86 Burb carb acting up, what can I eliminate?
So my burb as far as I know still has all the emissions stuff hooked up minus the cat.
The carb has the two wires in the top and I believe its a tan plug on the carb if it matters. Distributor has a vacum advance. All appears stock, vacum lines all seem to be hooked up etc. Problem is since the weather has been warming up I have noticed it runs a bit rich and is getting harder to start when warm. I have checked the choke and it is fully open when warm. It also will stumble if you give it a little shot of gas and let off, when you let off it will almost stall sometimes actually stall. When it doesn't completely stall as the rpms come back to idle speed it pushes a good bit of black out the tail pipe briefly and will pop through the exhaust at times as the rpms come back down. Also get a strong fuel oder after warm start up quite often. My question is if I swap the carb and eliminate all the extra vacum lines, switches, and extra wires will my converter still lock up properly?
