Re: 70 swb step value
Only you can make the determination whether a vehicle is worth what the seller wants. No one can tell you what a truck is worth sight unseen.
You need to ask yourself, if you were to do the same to one of your trucks, would you spend that amount of money to do it. Things get a lot higher when you have someone else do it. Another is, are you willing and have the money to pay that? I have seen some really nice, well done, completed trucks over here for less than that.

15K is a lot for something that doesn't run.

Re: 70 swb step value
Can you verify the motor runs? Transmission shifts well? Rear end isn't going bad? Gauges work? Truck brakes well? I don't mean to be sarcastic but no, you can't verify any of that so as far as you are concerned it is all reconditioned junk until otherwise proven. I've seen engines cleaned on the outside that look like crate motors off the truck, only to be 250,000 mile junk. Not everyone is shady but I'd trust them as far as I can throw 'em. I've even seen "receipts" that were from a different project.

Re: 70 swb step value
I know everything has been professionally done but the owner passed before putting it together.
It's a complete truck just not fully assembled |

Re: 70 swb step value
I think if you look around, for that kind of money you could get one all put together. In fact you should shop those, then figure how much of your time and hassle will go into putting this back together, and add in a few thousand for the unseen issues that will come up in the project.
If this is someone you know maybe don't do business. If the widow needs money you will insult her with what I imagine would be a fair offer for this truck. |
