hood springs

when I pull the hood latch on my 69 the hood doesn't pop up it has new hood hinges do you think I need new springs also anyone have this problem thanks

Before you try new springs, adjust the rod that goes into the latch, and the two hood stops on either side of the grille. Also, it's possible the springs aren't aligned right. The alignment of everything should provide enough tension upward so that releasing the latch pops the hood up.

I had the same problem and it wasn't bad springs.

Putting my truck back together and noticed same thing with hood. Pulled latch lever and hood unlocked but barely lifted.
Then I put in 4 new rubber bumper guides at sides between hood and fender and hood pops up a little more.
Then installed new rubber strip between cowl and hood and now hood pops open nicely.
Got lucky I guess. Hope the same for you.
