my windshield wipers are broken, is it the motor?

my windshield wipers won't work, i tested the switch with three wires coming to it and they're all hot y??? the fuse is good so its not that, they all of a sudden stopped working they never slowed down or anything.

Well, the wires to the motor are hot, I think. The switch pulls them to ground to make the motor move. Try pulling your switch and checking it. I think it needs to be mounted (grounded) in order to work.
Let us know what you find so we can all improve our knowledge on these trucks!

the switch has already been pulled and when it was pulled all three of this wires were hot, so do you think that means that the switch should be intact when i attach them? what do u mean by check out the switch?

try this,,,,,turn on the wipers, [try all positions] GENTLY pull on the wiper blade arms to see if you can get them to start moving,,,age takes its toll on the amature......

one you were right about having to be grounded, two all i had to do was put it back together and it worked, hmmmm.......

Maybe the switch had a bad ground and you "fixed" it by R&Ring it? I think there should be a big star washer on the switch to ensure good grounding.
What I meant by "check the switch" is use an ohmmeter to figure out how it works and if you had a bad contact.
My wiper motor in my '92 Chevy PU won't move sometimes. I can always get it to move if I lightly whack the motor with the switch on. I'm thinking the brushes are almost shot, or a poor design.
