Gaylords fiberglass bed cover

Has anyone seen the gaylords fiberglass bed covers on one of our trucks? Are they built well and how are the locks and the seals? I am interested in them but would like to know if they are made well. I have a camper shell on my truck and do not like how the wind blows the truck on the highway, but I need secure storage area in the bed. Thanks...

The Gaylords I have seen go over the bed rail and look good , I have several friends who have them on later model trucks and love them .
I plan to get one for my truck B4 I get it painted.

Blue Beard ; Just put one on his truck awhile back ,Search isn't working so you might PM him and see how he likes it.

Talking

I have no trouble with water leaks in the bed. It seals real good.
Only trouble was that they didn't have one for a Longhorn, so I had to make something myself to close the gap.

Here's mine just after being painted to match the color of the truck....

Cya,
Edmond

Covers

Glad this got posted, I was going to ask questions also.

Gayord is one, any other input on smooth finish covers, good/bad/ avoid? I want to go with a cover this month. Checker is another I've heard about. Input?

Ive had mine for 3 years now and I love it. There are no leaks at all. It fits over the bed rails.

Gaylord says they can't help with my Longhorn. I called Checkmate, and they say they can make on, but the front seven inches will be stationary, and hinge from there back. Anyone tried them?

Thanks for all the info on the covers. They sound like they are very well made. I hate buying products unseen from out of town, this helps to know that they are made well. Did any of you guys get the prepainted ones from them? Do any of you know how much they weigh by chance?

Heres mine. I don't know how much they weigh but I would guess around 125 lbs. Two guys can handle them easy. I heard they have a new clamp on mounting now so you don't have to drill holes in your bed.

John / Steve

I think that's what I'm looking for, but at their website, their picture looks like it just sits on top. Is the rollover edge an option?

Wow thanks for the pictures Steve and John, your truck are beautiful. I really like those covers now that I have seen them on your trucks. I appreciate all the help. I will be ordering one soon.

Cover

I found a dealer about 130 miles from here. I'm going next weekend to see it first hand and probably order. Looks good, and the responses have been good. TF
