Transfer case pump rub ?

What mileage does the pump rub through the transfer case ? I've got a very low mileage 99 (43k) and a small leak.

Re: Transfer case pump rub ?

Around 100k, Wash it real good & verify if a pin hole is forming. If no hole is found, Get a pump rub kit from Merchant Auto & reseal the case, If a hole is found....You will need a case half. The case is magnesium, NO way to fix it.

Re: Transfer case pump rub ?

I had it cleaned last night . After driving it today, it appears the fluid is coming out of the access to the output shaft snap ring. That plastic cap seems kind of loose. There didn''t appear to be any oil further up near where the pump would wear a hole. I'm going to put some RTV on it and see if the leak stops.
