Six Luggers- Help!

My Question is about my 69 and it goes like this... Will a 15x8 six-lug fit? I mean will it clear front end components? What's the trick? Is it the back space?

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

I have some 15x8 stock chevy rally wheels off of a early 80s 4x4 and they clear everything. Truck is a 70 c10 short step

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

Ok then the 4x4s have the large diameter center bore correct? Rally wheels would work for me but but still doesn't the back space have to be right so the wheel dosnt hit the upper ball joint? Do you know the 4x4 back spacing on your Rally's?

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

Backspacing and hub center diameter are the usual two keys things on this.As long as those and the bolt pattern work.

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

The 73-87 4x4 15x8 rally wheels have a 3-5/8" backspace and will work fine.
Look at ALOT of the 6-lug trucks on the board and you will see this.

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

Will a 4" backspace work? What I am trying to do is learn how to compensate for wheel width to insure proper fit so is there a formula?

Nice looking Rally's! Can you suggest a vendar? I need tires before I can get my truck inspected and therefore want some decent wheels forst.

They were available thru my local independent Tire Shop. I'm sure if you go to yours, they can order them for you. I bought tires, wheels, GM Flat Caps, Bands, mounted and balanced $1388 w/tax

Sounds pretty easy. However I contacted Coker (supposedly the biggest international tire company in the world) and they didn't have any rallys at all that were 6x5.5 bolt pattern. They did have literally 4 steel wheels and 1 primed center with chrome rims on steel wheel. They were willing to make them with a two month wait period. They were willing to custom machine aluminum wheels for 350 each. So.. I guess Ill keep looking unless someone can throw out a vender name for me to try.

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

Look for Wheel Vintiques brand wheels. You can get 15x8's in the correct fitment for about $75ish, plus caps and rings.

Re: Six Luggers- Help!

Ok then thanks for the responses. Now if I have six lug pre-71 wheels, then will I have trouble converting to disk brakes?

Yes.
OEM pre-71 wheels will have interference issue with a disc brake caliper.
Wheel Vintiques 6-lug wheels will work fine.
Just like 73-87 oem 6-lug wheels,...
