Half the year I go to Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) in Flint, MI, and the other half of the year is spent at home with my truck, and working at an Automotive seals company called Freudenberg-NOK as a co-op engineer (basically an engineer intern, but I get paid and the work gives you credit for college). Two years left, then I'm out and can start dumping money into the truck instead of the school when my loans are paid off.

WOW! I interviewed with Freudenberg-NOK when I was starting to co-op. I interviewed for the Indianapolis branch! Cool! I had forgotten all about them! Thanks for the memories!

I am a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, completing my master's thesis. Then, I am on to study under a business entrepreneur for 6 months, where I hope to open my own business in commercial advertising and photography. (If that's unsuccessful, I'll just return to engineering.)

After putting in 10 years - geez, what a waste - as a liability claims adjustor at a top 10 insurance company, I chucked that albatross 3 years ago and became a pinstriper. Now I work/play when I want. Best move I ever made. SC

For the last 15 years I've been a software engineer for Honeywell. We make navigation boxes for commercial and business jets. Currently I'm working on the new Airbus A380.

I've also worked on a product the FAA just started to buy from us. It is a GPS "Ground Station". This device corrects the errors in GPS solutions allowing planes to land when the visibility is near zero. We've used it to land planes without pilots (they're there just not doing anything).

That same GPS technology can be had for your boat. The system on my bass boat gets me within 15 feet of where I think I am which is close enough to find the "spot on the spot". This ties in nicely with my 2nd career which is as a professional fisherman. I'd like #2 to replace #1 but very few guys make a go of it...
Unless you want to be divorced and live in a trailer.
