That's how the truck was built from the factory for Mexico.

Want your mind blown? In other countries these trucks were offered in configurations similar to today's Tahoe and Avalanche.

See post # 11 here:

Re: Orale vatos!

Ok so upon closer inspection that looks like a 60's lower bedside but with a beltline to match the cab with a 67-72 top on it. Its hard to see the body lines in those pics. Is that about what they look like ? If I had ever seen one for sale I might have walked away up to this point.

Re: Orale vatos!

Yup thats really what they look like. Mismatched bodylines and all. The gauges were all in spanish too. Really different looking. The tailgate looks like 60-66 fleetside but the are differences. This was was reallyrusted out though. It had an origimal 292 with a 3 on the tree

Re: Orale vatos!

I have a set of 16" steelies on my 67 now.. Very cool rims. I'm digging the truck, has a pretty cool stance... Although I'm pretty sure there aren't any cpp drop spindles or coils under there so....

Re: Orale vatos!

These trucks used 67/68 steering wheels and hubcaps from factory, through '72. They were all base level no chrome 6cyl/3spd no chrome SWB trucks with 16" rims.

You should see the earlier and later GM Trucks from South of the Border. There was even a mini truck (C10 Brasil) and SUV (Veraneio) that I'd like to have in the worst way

Re: Orale vatos!

So, based on the first picture here. I have a question.
Its a 71 Chevrolet... but it retains 6 lug wheels?

This makes me want to plan a vacation to Mexico and take mucho peso's and hopefully find one.

I'm pretty sure they're all drum brake through '72. I'd like to know for sure, but that's what I've been thinking. I want to go to Brazil and bring back a Veraneio or C10

Re: Orale vatos!

Thats says double cab 3 door doesnt it. Who reads spanish what does the rest of that say? I see adaptable for passengers or cargo. I dont understand the removible part but must have to do with the rear seat or cab wall. And looking again that's going to take two truck cabs to get right not a burb. The doors are like truck doors.

Re: Orale vatos!

Oh no my friend, have you not seen frizzle's Tahoe? Cut down burb. Looks perfect.

You'll probably spend a few hours reading through/drooling over this... and it's not even done yet!
