frame differences... if any?

What differences, if any are there from an 81 and an 82 Chevy short box truck frame? I have an opportunity to buy an 82 frame which i can clean up, paint and assemble new components on ahead of tearing down my 81 but want to make sure it will work first. Also, how can assure the frame is straight before I buy it? Measure from overall corner to corner? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: frame differences... if any?

Same 81 - 87, with the exception of the e-brake cable mounts changed in 84.

Re: frame differences... if any?

Thanks, I thought they were the same.

How can I assure the frame is straight before I buy it? I don't want to buy a bent frame.
