Will these headers work?
Hey guys I need to order headers for my 58 Apache. I have the stock ebrake and steering box in place. Crate 350. wondering if these particular shorty block huggers will clear the steering box. currently running ramhorns with no issue. what do you think?
Thanks, Mark http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hok-2001hkr |

Re: Will these headers work?
What are you using for engine mounts, side or front or?? Usually those types dump right on the side engine mount, which the stock v8 did not have. You probably need a set that sweeps back at an angle.

Re: Will these headers work?
On that frame the major issue is going to be side motor mounts if you have them.

Re: Will these headers work?
Boy, I wish I coulda got that kind of help over on the F**D truck forum when I was doing the engine swap on my F100.
I asked about headers for that and the reply I got was basically, "get several, use the ones that fit." No wonder I'd rather build Chevys

Re: Will these headers work?
Has anyone ever used the Sanderson headers? They claim to made to fit TF trucks with a small block swap. Thinking about trying them myself. They have a few different styles, shorties or long tubes (I recommend long tubes for any motor that is not high revving) and also different size primary tubes and collectors. Their website has dimensions for measuring fitment.

Re: Will these headers work?
Thanks guys i am running the front tubular style motor mount. I dont think this style will present any problems with headers..right? I have ramhorns now and am looking for the best header which will not require alot of mods to the exhaust system since its brand new. Those Sanderson shortys look promising and I may go for them but these Hooker block huggers are cheaper. Most long tube block huggers require angle spark plugs and I will be running straight plugs, which narrows my choices further.
