Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
I am looking for an outdoor car cover for my 72 C10. I am about to have a baby and need to keep the car inside instead of the chevy so I need something that will last a few seasons until I move to a place with a larger garage. I've bounced around between an outdoor car cover and a portable / pop up zippered garage, I'd be fine with either but would like recommendations. I live in the northern part of South Carolina, we get rain and icy, rarely snow, but it will occasionally drop below freezing. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
Congrats on the baby. I just got the new LMC catalogue yesterday and their covers looked good. Or you could sell me the truck and not worry about it:-)

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
You can use the "cover it" car port. I had one over ten years with no issue. Make sure you anchor with proper anchors. We get lots snow and ice up north and it held up nicely.

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
I bought one of the covers from lmc,a while back. I finally put it on yesterday, Im pleasently surprised so far. It fit well and so far the rain is just beading off. Only time will tell if the cover will hold up. I also have a tent canopy covering my vintage trailer, from king canopy it works well so far too. Thought about getting one for the truck, but that might be to ghetto fabulous in my neighborhood.

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
i'd go with the popup zippered garage enclosure cause the slipon car covers tend to make swimming pools in the bed and are very easy to get blown off in the worst weather

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
i bought the best one that lmc had for about $150 and that was about 4 years ago held upgood but also was under a carport, just be sure the part that touches the paint is soft, the lmc one is real soft like flannel, but if it's going to be in the sun buy a good one, california cover or hit trade shows there are vendors that that sell good ones there

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
My experience with vehicle covers used outdoors has not been good. Unless they're on very tight they tend to flap around on very windy days and eventually rub wax -and if bad enough -paint of the truck.
If you get one be sure you have the truck in an area where wind won't be a problem. Re. cdowns comment about water in bed: If you don't drive the truck much, you can remove the tailgate or if possible, leave it down so rain won't accumulate on the back. That's what I did on mine.

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
Has anyone found a cab-only tight fit outdoor cover for 67-72s?

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
Yeah, from my experience with 2 different "car" covers, neither is a solution - both turned into doughboy pools! Maybe the 'temporary carports' would work better, but I haven't tried them (yet).

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
Get a zippered one. Make sure you use anchors. Keep the outside cleaned off, they can get green growth if you don't take care of em. Resist storing other things in there besides the truck. They can start to fill up and bow out and basically they just end up looking crappy. I had one for a year or so until I built my little shop. Tried to be a good neighbor by keeping it decent looking.

Re: Need suggestions on an outdoor car cover
covers suck...they did more damage than just leaving the vehicle outside...go for a portable garage like a shelter logic but anchor it well...and if you dont wash the vehicle before you put on the cover it grinds the dirt into the paint
