Question Lights Out

First, Greetings to all. I have a new problem with the Lights going out when I put them on bright. The lights work on dim but when I hit the switch they go out completely. I am thinking it is the switch but need advice if anyone has had this problem. All other lights are functioning.

Re: Lights Out

Dimmer switch connection or switch itself.

Re: Lights Out

Yup dimmer switch or the plug. Dimer is easy to test with a volt meter.

Re: Lights Out

Had this exact same thing happen to me. I replaced the dimmer switch but I still had the problem. So I replaced the headlight switch - still the same problem.

I tested for voltage and found I had power going to the dimmer switch. So I stepped on the dimmer switch a dozen times or so and noticed the clicking was loose and grinding while I got intermittent lights.

I returned the dimmer switch for another and noticed immediately the crisp and clean clicking of the new switch. Headlights now work 100%.

It's a cheap part and super easy to replace (assuming you have the correct "screwdriver", but a large flathead should work).

Re: Lights Out

First off welcome to the forum! Also be sure to check the bulbs and make sure the high beam filaments are not burned out.
