Help identify model years for stepside bed
I have a 1970 C10 with a Stepside Bed. The bed is not original to the truck. Therefore, I am trying to identify the model years that it came from so that I can get the correct parts to fix the bed - such as a new floor and supports.

I do believe that is a mid 50's to mid 80's Dodge box..

Re: Help identify model years for stepside bed
After looking at Dodge websites, I believe it is a 1961 and up stepside. It is 54" wide which matches, has the middle hinge which came out in 61. The confusion is in the length. Most web sites say it is 76" long (inside measurement). I measure 78" and have found a web site that makes wood kits that say 78". SO, now I need to figure out if I have a stock Dodge bed or a modified bed. This truck started out as a long bed and the frame was shortened. That must have been when the Dodge bed was put on. Who knows what else has been modified.

Re: Help identify model years for stepside bed
I would think you could find a nice 67-72 stepside bed in SC. The dodge box doesn't suit the truck imho.

Re: Help identify model years for stepside bed
Thanks for the responses. I think I will look for an original Chevy bed for my truck.

Re: Help identify model years for stepside bed
You never know... 60's and 70's Dodges are starting to get that "so ugly, they're cool" vibe going the past few years... that bed looks really nice, you may be able to sell it for more than you would pay for a good C10 bed. Sucks someone cut out a giant bowtie though... the tailgates are probably worth a good bit too.
