292 upgrades
Good morning.
I am a new member from beautiful western Pa! Good to be here! I just purchased a 1968 C10 4X4 long bed fleetside with 65000 miles on it. Neat truck. It has a 292 six mated to a 4 speed tranny. What can I do to make it a bit more drivable? Can you get a 5 speed that matches up? An extra gear would help. Anything that I an do to the 292 to give it a bit more performance, aside from tearing it all apart, or replacing it with a V8? Right now it running a bit rich. also: Where is the best place to get a shop manual for the truck? Ickyban |
