The correct NAPA part number for TYPE 56 male and female connectors
I figured I would post this as a new thread because I'm sure that more people would be interested than just the ones looking at the HEI hookup thread. In an effort to make your truck look clean I suggest that wires that need to pass through the firewall be routed via the bulkhead connector. There is typically plenty of room on the block to add additional pass through wires. You will need to purchase TYPE 56 connectors from somewhere. I found mine at NAPA. The part numbers are 725145 and 725147. I don't remember which is female and which is male but you'll need equal numbers of each type if doing the bulkhead connector pass through thing. These connectors are also used in a majority of all of the connectors in the truck. Each has a tab that snaps out and holds the connector in the plastic part of the connectors. Everyone should have spares laying around for when you need them. The cost was .49 and .29 cents a piece. You won't regret having spares around. NAPA is never open when I really need to get the connectors. Forget AutoZone and Advanced Auto, I had no luck finding them there. At NAPA they had to let me look through their book to show them what I wanted. They had them in stock but not out for display.

Do you have a pictures of these connectors. My local NAPA is run by rednecks who think everything is a doohicky or a thingimajig. So I need a picture ot the doohicky and the thingimajig to show them what they look like as I have alot of connections that I need to route thru the firewall.

They are called Packard 56 connectirs. I usually can get them in bulk at interstate battery distributors. Mail order from waytex wire. That way the cost is about 8 cents apiece. Napa usually only carries the males for 10-12 guage wire, almost impossible to crimp in my Ideal brand crimper/
