Dual headlight wiring question
I got the complete harness from an 88 suburban for my swap on my 84 k30. I removed the old harness and just plugged the new one in. Hooked lights to it and NOTHING works. Headlights, parking lights, blinkers, nada. Am I supposed to just splice the pigtails off the 88 harness to make it work? So much for plug and play... All I need is this resolved and I'll be up and running again!

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
My vote would be you did not get the grounds hooked up or a bad ground connection . If nothing works this is the common denominator . Also never overlook power source . Throw a meter on it. Get it fixed and get it on the road. I love driving mine.

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
I'd check the wire colours in the plug?
not all plugs get wired the same

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
Would anyone know why my front right blinker stays lit? The rear doesn't until I engage the signal. It just stays lit and doesn't blink on the rear.

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
It does sound like the pins in the plug is still off. I would recheck them . Also I see your bottom head light is burning. Just on dim the top should be burning. On bright all four. The top bulb should have 3-connectors on it and bottom have 2-connectors.

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
Yessir that's how I have it set up but it seems to only work like this. I will clean all the connections and see what that does. Anything else I should look for?

If that's what you want,I did it to mine just bend out the corners of the buckets,to prevent going cross eyed lol may want to remove the wires from the plastic plugs, check for corrosion. check the front marker bulbs base wires, and confirm no rears bulbs are reversed

Re: Dual headlight wiring question
I'm sub'd. We just picked up our first 73-87 for my younger brother and are trying to get it running for his birthday this weekend to go wheeling. The PO blew the dimmer switch and just threw in a toggle to replace it, but the whole setup is a huge mess. I added in relays for the quad setup, but I've been getting some weird problems just like yours, with only the bottom coming on instead of the top. Also had issues where the circuit for all four would only turn on the top two, the opposite circuit would turn on the bottom two, but both together light all four. The way its wired makes me think the one circuit should light all four... My older brother supposedly got it working last night, so when I head home today I'll try to get some pics of what we did.
