WTB 5.3 or 6.0 complete w/trans. Houston, tx area
I am in the Houston, tx area and I am looking for a 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 complete with transmission and wiring and ECM. I would definitely like them to all be out of the same vehicle but I'm open to all possibilities. I have the tools to remove them myself if you still have it in the vehicle to let me hear it run.

I am also able to meet anyone in the Austin, tx area or anywhere in between Houston and Austin. Maybe even drive down to San Antonio as well.

Re: WTB 5.3 or 6.0 complete w/trans. Houston, tx area
I bought a freshly pulled 2002 Yukon 5.3 and 4l60, complete with harness and ECU through LKQ locally here in Topeka, it cost me $1600.
Have them swapped into my jeep truck now and love it. Whatever you do get them to throw in the gas pedal, air intake and if possible have them cut the pipes back behind the cats, you may be able to use some of that exhaust and save some money. Jeff

Re: WTB 5.3 or 6.0 complete w/trans. Houston, tx area
The LKQ guy isn't following through with me yet. He said he had a 93k 5.3 that they hadn't pulled yet and I emailed him yesterday and still haven't heard back. I talked to another place that is going to call me when they get a truck in that has what I want and they will do a pull-out engine for a good price. Hopefully if that happens I can see it run before they pull it.
At this point I will just get a good engine first and that way I don't tie up so much money up front and I can clean it up and paint it and check some things and go ahead an freshen up the gaskets and the water pump and stuff like that. I'll get a freshly rebuilt trans from a local builder I like and use that. It's more money that way but I want to KNOW that my trans is in good shape so I don't have to worry about burning it up the first time I want to tow with it or force a downshift on the freeway. |
