Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
I'm interested, and shipping can be handled, but can you answer a couple of questions: Will this bell housing use the motor mounts on our trucks, or does it need a trans cross member? Does this have a mechanical or electrical speedometer output? Do you have the receipt from the work done by the trans shop? Thanks, Ken

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
No it was rebuilt when i bought it and i didn't get you can pull the cover off and see its all new.It has a VSS electronic speedo hook up.I was going to use a converter or a electronic speedometer .The gps speedos are nice also .You could always change the main shaft also.I was going to use a trans cross member this is a Lakewood bell housing and it has bolt holes that look like you could bolt it in our bell housing mounts if you wanted to .Hope all of the info helps .Oz

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
Here's a bump, I run this transmission in my '68 and love it, I haven't had a speedometer since I built it, what sort of converter box would you recommend? My father was looking at one while at a trade show back in 2009, but unfortunately passed away shortly after his return and I never took it any futher.

Check into the SpeedHut GPS speedometers. I used one in my '67 with an S-10 5 speed and it works really well. LockDoc

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
I'm curious about the packaging/palletizing and cost to send via Fastenall. Can you provide details? I filled out a form to ask about shipping a transfer case on the Fastenall site and never heard back...

Did you put "Somewhere" on the shipping form?...j/k.. I called them first, then downloaded the form, filled it out, and Faxed it to them. Had an answer next day. It was $150 for 300 pounds on a 40x48 (standard) pallet, from Maryland to Iowa. Pretty cheap I thought.... It had to be dropped off at the MD store and I have to pick it up at the Iowa store. LockDoc

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
No, I put my zip in the form, which is the same as the zip of the local store. Now that people have the internet, I didn't realize I had to call.

I don't think you HAVE to call but I always do in that type of situation. I like to get the skinny directly from the horses mouth, so to speak.... LockDoc
