What's difference in pump for I6 vs. V8

As far as I know, the pump itself is the same.

Yup, the cans around the pump vary, but the pumps are the same.
The pulley mount changes too. |

So the pump that came off a v8 should work on my I 6 as long as I use the correct brackets???

Yes. If the fittings on the back clear your bracket, your good to go.
