71 addition
I bought a GM Home link a few months ago to install it in the 71 truck. These things are pretty easy to use and I don't have the clicker door button on my viser anymore. I installed it in the ash tray since I don't smoke anymore and it works fine. I have 2 more buttons I can program if I had something to use them for.
I moved the Scan Gauge to the bottom of the dash and velcro'ed it.

Re: 71 addition
I ran the orange and white wires both to a 12 volt switch hot. The black went to ground. The H/L will keep the memory no matter if the orange is always hot are not once set. I gave $20.00 for the H/L.

Re: 71 addition
Andy4639, can you tell us what gm vehicle the homelink came out of? And gm part number? And just to clarify, this is completely self contained? The transmitter and all electronics are installed on the back side of the module you show?
I have homelink in my '14 2500 gmc and have the garage door, and both barn doors programed in. Much better than buying multiple garage door openers and having multiple garage door openers on your sun visor. thanks, Dave |
