200-4R TV cable linkage for Q-Jet
I fab'd a quick adapter (ie: a screw run into a temporary hole on the linkage) to connect my 200-4R TV cable to the factory Q-Jet carb. It actually measures correct in terms of center and offset and swing distance, but it's not the right way.
GM likely sold a lot of 200-4R cars with Q-Jets before fuel injection took over, but I've had no luck finding any factory part that would work. I've also been through the Summit catalog and not had much luck. I did buy one that bolts to the carb base, but (a) it sticks out like a sore thumb crying 'wrong transmission' in my otherwise stock truck, and (b) our intakes are so bad the bracket can't even clear it. I want to get it right, and especially have a part I didn't make myself, so that if I grenade it with the cable set right they can't complain about my bracket. Of course when it takes you 2-3 years to finish a truck all your warranties are useless by the time you drive it anyway... Thanks for any leads on doing this right! Dave

I believe that bowtieoverdrives.com has the correct brackets and linkage for a Qjet.

Re: 200-4R TV cable linkage for Q-Jet
Yes, BT O/D - I'm a fan.
Their site http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...SUBCAT&CATID=C The part http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...AT&CATID=WA3A4 The gouge http://www.tvmadeez.com/ MOST trans builders will not guarantee the trans if they don't start it up and drive it after the install - it will cook in short order if the TV stuff is incorrect. So, if you want the warranty, you often will have to trailer it over to get it checked out or have them do the install in the first place (the trans shop). Yes, it sucks. |

Re: 200-4R TV cable linkage for Q-Jet
Thanks! Kind of lame they don't include the stamped tin bracket you need and sell it separately for $10, but so be it, I'll pay to get it right.
But they have two "systems", and I have no idea what to choose. Q-Jet: 1902/1903/1904/1905 The other is for Q-Jet: 1901/1910 What the heck are those? They're not years obviously and don't look like any Q-Jet casting numbers I can think of. Also, I'm assuming this is the little bracket I need because I do not have cruise. Does this look right? http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...php?ITEMID=376 Thanks for all the help! Dave
