69 C10 gear ratio question

I've gotten my 69 road worthy. Took it on 45 mile cruise last night only downfall is at 60 mpg the little 250 inline 6 is humming at 2800 rpm. Any input as different ratio or rear end for a swap? Thanks guys any input is appreciated

Re: 69 C10 gear ratio question

A V8 3.07 rear end would be about the easiest. They were optional on a 250 L6. A lot is going to depend on what you want to do with the truck.

Play with the variables here.
