Time for change. Going fuel injected
Last time I was on here I was changing from a 3 speed to a np a833 4 speed overdrive. Well now im going to start my next big change. Im going this weekend to pull a 5.3 from a 2000 Silverado and start workin on swaping it in my 70 c10 lwb. Im really hoping everything will work out like im planning because I want to hook my 4 speed overdrive to the new motor.
My first question though is does the guy on lt1swap.com do good work on the pcm flashing? He seems reasonable and has a lot of info. Every time I do a search for info on this kind of swap his website is mentioned. Thanks for all of your info in advance |

lt1 swaps is mostly mentioned for there guides to "do your own" wiring , he has a good reputation , bp automotive ,texas speed, 150 tunes ,,and current ,, do tunning ,, here is a link to the ls boards ,, and there is an ls specific threed here ,, Ive done a 68 and 67 c10 myself and love the power and reliability

Hey thanks. Im lookin forward to it. Im getting the engine, all of the harness and pcm for 400 bucks. Only 150,000 miles on it and was a city maintained truck

I did my first LS swap like in 2006 and that guy was around then[lt1 swap.com] yeah he his pretty reliable I have used John Spears [Speartech] look him up he is in IN. He was on the GM power train team the help design the electronics for the first ls Vette. That was a plenty good enough resume for me . He redid a harness and reflashed a PCM for me and he did what he said he would do when he said he would do for the price he promised.That makes a pretty good guy in my book and he helped me when I had a problem arise. Ahh more good info. Thanks.
Im new to this whole fuel injection thing. But I have 2 friends that have 4 of those 2000 and 2001 chevy trucks. All of them have over 280,000 miles and run great, get decent mileage and have great power so im gona give it a go. |

I hear ya! My daily driver is an '02 Tahoe with the 5.3 and 4L60E. It's only got 116k on it so it should serve me well for a long time yet. Just had a GM trans put in it with a 3 year 100k warranty so I'm good there for a while. My sun shell broke at 115k. Luckily my little sister works in the chevy dealer parts counter and got me the tranny installed for $2180. Wasn't going to bother doing myself for that much.

Has anyone successfuly mated a 2000 model 5.3 to a 4 speed or any other older manual transmission. I have the np a833 in my truck now and I really want to keep it with thenew motor
