Adding Disc and lowering Fr&Rr...
Ok I have been reading threads and searching sites for a week... I want to lower my 68 3/5(?) and upgrade brakes from non power drums to power disc. I also want to change from the 6 lug to 5 on 5 lug.
I have seen many kits to do one or the other, but nothing that does both. I am niether for nor against kits or piece mealing it out... which ever way to get the parts together to get the job done. So anyone have a parts list or manufactor that can help me? Jimmy |

If I order the axle conversion from them, what rotors and calibers will I need? And when you order the 4/6 drop kit for $799 you get the 2 1/2" drop spindles as do you when you get the disc brake conversion kit for $759??? Can't use two sets of drop spindles... And do these all bolt up to my stock A-arms? Jimmy |

Call them and talk to Stan. He will fix you up with what you need and answer your questions.

I haven't used this kit, but this is one I was considering because I am looking to do the same thing you are looking at on my '67. The thing that looks good to me on this one is it comes with everything, which is a huge selling point for me. The only thing this doesn't include that I would need for my truck is rear axles to convert them to 5 lug, but I am leaving the rear as drum brakes. |

Look in the review area for feedback from members before you
order from CPP. You have been warned.

Re: Adding Disc and lowering Fr&Rr...
I'm considering doing almost the exact same thing to my 70 except I have power drums now. still thinking about replacing the booster and master though. I'd be interested to see what you end up going with. I have a little time before I pull the trigger on my upgrade, so please post who you go with and the results you get.

Re: Adding Disc and lowering Fr&Rr...
I do know that Early Classic offers a kit that combines the 4/6 drop kit and disc brake conversion kit for $1299. But that's as far as I got. Give them a call or email them at sales@earlyclassic.com. They're usually pretty good at getting back to you.

Thanks for the heads up! Quote:
I plan on using the kits available from ECC! Stan can put a kit together for your personal needs! I will not be tearing into this project for another couple months, just buying parts ahead of time. Quote:
Just got off the phone with Stan! Very impressed with him. Quote:

Ok, after talking to Stan at ECE (for an hour!) I think he has everything worked out for me.
I am going with the 4/6 drop for sure. Converting over to power steering(thanks to Stan!).Jimmy Last edited by Dustmaker65; 02-06-2015 at 06:10 PM. |

Re: Adding Disc and lowering Fr&Rr...
Rear disc is unnecessary, unless you have open wheels and want some bling.

Re: Adding Disc and lowering Fr&Rr...
Rear disc is nice if you have money to burn.
Otherwise it's not neccessary. You are on the right track with ECE.
