gear install
well I ordered a new differential. I went with a eaton posi unit. I'm planning to reuse my stock gears for now. I'm also planning on doing the install myself. Any good writeups on teh net of how to do this or books to look at. I have a chilton and haynes manual that I'll look over, but sometimes they're not the best, though I can usually get stuff done using them, but I know rearends are a little more precision orientated in regards to setting them up compared to most.

Check out some of the tech stuff on Randy's Ring & Pinion site. Preloading the pinion and setting the backlash are a couple of critical things. Randy's also has a booklet they let me have last time I was there that shows how to do all this stuff. It's provided by their Yukon brand:
