Turbo 350 or 400 transmission ?
How do I know which tranny I have? It was a stock 305ci Silverado step side.

Re: Turbo 350 or 400 transmission ?
Most likely a TH350 unless it is an overdrive 700R4. The transmission pan will be more or less square with a corner cut off for a TH350 and square for a 700R4 and roughly a Texas shape for a TH400. Lots of web sites with pics and pan shapes.

Do you have a sticker inside the glove box with RPO codes?
Does the gear shift indicator above the steering column have an overdrive option? What year is the truck?

1986. Based on the pan, I think it is a th350. The glove box sticker didn't help. Thanks for the advice.

Mx1 is what is shown in the glove box. Research agrees that I have a th350. I am ordering a TCI tranny from summit unless some one on here has some negatives about them to share.

Re: Turbo 350 or 400 transmission ?
If its a weekend toy a turbo 350 is fine,If its a daily driver i would run a 700r4 because of the over drive.
