Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
I am going to be using a universal 21 circuit harness to rewire my 62 C10. I am going this route as I have a lot of non stock things to power and this harness will allow for it (Electric Water Pump, Electric Fan, Electric Fuel Pump, 2 stages of N20, Trans Brake, Line lock, etc).
The big things I need are: Headlight switch pin outs Ignition switch pin outs Colum Pin out for brakes/turn signals I would appreciate any info on these. Thanks in advance!

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
Simple way would be to google a 66 chevy truck wiring schematic. Your wiring harness should be labeled as to what is what.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
If you want something you can actually hold in your hand and read easily I would recommend this. It is a reprint of the original books from Chevrolet. I have one of their wiring diagrams and it was a life saver.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
What I really need is a diagram of the individual switches, what terminal is for what. Saw one fire the headlight switch and will dig through to see if I can find ignition and column.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
In the links provided, I found Headlight switch and Ingnition pin outs.
I still need to understand the column pins. I had a diagram some time ago but can not find it now. If anyone has this one, that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
Here is what I have for the column pins. This is for the 7 or 8 position curved shaped connector.
Terminal, color, function G, Black, Horn Switch (one source has this as a Dark Green wire in 1960-1963 GM Trucks) H, Lt. Blue, Left Front Turn Signal J, Blue, Right Front Turn Signal K, Brown, Hazzard (1960-1966 GM Trucks do not have this wire) L, Purple, Turn Flasher (one source has this as a Yellow wire in 1960-1963 GM Trucks) M, Yellow, Left Rear Turn Signal (one source has this as a Pink wire in 1960-1963 GM Trucks) N, Green, Right Rear Turn Signal (one source has this as a Purple wire in 1960-1963 GM Trucks) P, White, Brake Switch for your 1962 column, the colors should be the ones that are in the (notes) for those functions. GM did change some colors in the column harness for the '64-'66 trucks. If this does not match your pin locations on you connector, the colors should match up with the function...

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
I can't go off the colors. There was no factory connector on it, and someone had previously rewired it with none stock wire.
I really need the pin out / function.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
Can you unscrew that connector from the column and see what color the wires are on the backside? GM is usually good about maintaining the same color wires on both sides of connectors. Then by wire color you should be able to determine the function of each wire.
Of course a '62 wiring diagram would be most useful, but I don't have one and so far no one that has one has come along.

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
Never seen a connector like that on one of these trucks. It only has 6 positions...

The '60-'62's are different than the '63-'66's

Re: Rewiring truck - Looking for Diagrams
Thanks aggie91!! I'm rewiring MY 62 using American Autowire Power Plus 13 (Universal) harness and although feeling a little overwhelmed at first, its been going quite well....until I got to the turn signal switch. I was unsure how to go about using the new switch connector with the old style connector. After a couple hours of searching my wiring diagrams and finding this thread, I'm simply cutting the new connector and rewiring to the old connector. It should look factory when I'm done.
