crappy part or is something wrong?

Im in the process of doing the floors in my 64 c10. I fit the doors and had really nice gaps so I braced it all. Long story short im trying to fit the new floor support on the drivers side and its not sitting flush to the other floor support. I know aftermarket parts aren't going to fit great without some work but its sitting almost an inch away. Has anyone else ever had this issue or is something tweaked on the cab?

Re: crappy part or is something wrong?

Based on my experience, I'd say that's not bad fitment. IIRC I had to bend the two tabs on the support brace almost flat so they reached the main cab support, then do some creative welding on mine. If your doors open/close good and the gaps look ok, I'd make it work by either adding metal to the ends of the tabs or rebending them to make it work.

In the end, between welding the new floor pan piece to the existing floor pan, spot welding the new floorpan to the cab support, and the other misc repairs, it will be plenty strong no matter how you weld that support in there.

Crappy fitment. Good luck. i ended up with a half inch gap between the tabs and the bottom of my floor. one day when I retire I will do it right.

From what I have seen, that is typical of that cab support piece.
