bed fitment/quality

Just looking for opinions on what the fitment and quality are for aftermarket beds.

Re: bed fitment/quality

Just completed mine today. Ordered all the bed parts from GMCPaul, Front panel, Bedsides, Wheel tubs and Tailgate. Bedsides were good just minor fitment issues. Tailgate is great, but the repop handle did not work at all. Used the original handle. Best advise is to take the time to assemble everything before body work and paint prep. Test fit everything. Ordered the wood bed kit from Mar-K and it is excellent.

Awesome. I'm at a crossroads where I can sell my original bed that has a wave in the floor and a long crease in the rear lower driver side bed, or buy a new reproduction bed from a friend for a killer price.

Re: bed fitment/quality

I used the LMC bed sides and tailgate, and everything went perfect but ONE hole on each side. Five minutes with a file, and all was good! I was actually really surprised. I think all these parts places buy from the same vendor anyway. So I guess its kinda a craps shoot on what you get.

The new bed kits are cheaper and require a lot less work than restoring a original truck bed. Just know that all bed kits are not the same. We include a Totally Stainless bolt kit that comes complete with everything you need to assemble our new bed kits. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call.

Re: bed fitment/quality

I bought a complete bed kit, all the way down to the nuts and bolts. Got it from Southern Kentucky Classics out of Bowling Green. I live close by so I had to go that route for shipping purposes. The bed fit well together and have no concerns.

Re: bed fitment/quality

I would think putting a wood floor in and one bedside wouldn't be too expensive, if you wanted to go that route, guess it all depends on how good your friends price is
