75-76 grill swap - Chevy to GMC ?

[1979 GMC Sierra]

I recently bought a 1976 Chevy Cheyenne, that i'm looking to convert to a GMC High Sierra. Which GMC grill will work on a 1976 Chevy ? If at all ? Cause im assuming that the 75-76 GMC grill wont work due to the hood latch location differences between the GMC and Chevy grills, as well as the bolt holes. Is there a GMC grill that will bolt up the same ? Or do i have to make modifications ? Any help or info would be great. Thanks.

For a 75/76 grill you need to use 73/74 Chevy or 73-76 gmc hood latch and grill brackets. From what I've seen GMC kept the deep style grill until 76.

Thanks for the info. So to put a 75-76 GMC grill on a 1976 Chevy, I have to get a 73-74 Chevy or 73-76 GMC hood latch and grill brackets...take my current hood latch off and put the other one on ? Then add the brackets ? Will the bolt holes line up then ?

Everything for the hood latch and center grill brackets should just be an r&r. The outer brackets by the headlight will have to have the holes drilled. I can't remember exactly if the 75/76 grill uses the outer brackets or not though.

Awesome, thanks again for the info man! If anyone else can add to this, such as if the 75-76 GMC grill uses the outer brackets...or if you have any other tips for putting a 75-76 GMC grill on a 1976 Chevy, feel free to let me know.
