Which big block stands ????
I have a 69 c20 292 3OTT Manual steering and brakes. Everything needs rebuilt.
I bought a 91 suburban 2500 with PS,PB, 454/400, and 14 bolt 3.73 posi. I'm going to switch the entire driveline, and am trying to have most parts i need on hand. I'm going to switch front crossmembers first for PS, and power disc. Will I be able to use big block stands that came with crossmember or will I need to find 67-72 stands. Thanks for any help, Ive already learned alot from this site |

Agree-unless 1991 Suburban is 4WD you should be able to use the front crossmember. Should be same as a 73-87 pickup since Suburban and most 1-tons stayed square body longer were not the new body style until 1992.

Re: Which big block stands ????
if the gas-guzzling big block was bolted to the mounts in the Suburban and you move the crossmember and mounts to your truck, why wouldn't it bolt back to the same mounts? Not trying to be a smart@#$ but what am I missing?

Requiring you to shim up the top bolts of the engine stands when used in a 67-72 frame? Look at this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=281308 QUOTE: 1) The framerail on '73-87 trucks is 6" tall at mid-crossmember. The framerail on 67068 trucks is 5.5" tall at mid-crossmember.
