Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

Wow, that's a sweet truck. I don't have a clue on the value but I bet there are some here that will.

No help on the engine either, but I'm guessing 327 or 350 if it came out with an SBC...and a 292 if it's a straight 6.

Howzabout an underhood shot or 2?

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

I just shed a small tear! I think part of it was for you, on the joy I have for your inheritance being in such great shape after 45 years. The other part was for my sadness in the condition of my own green 1969 C50 that I bought 4 months ago that is going to take me a lot of $$$$ and time just to get to the level that your starting with. If it runs as good as it looks, you should ask at least $7,000.

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

These trucks don't bring that kind of money. It's a market of it's own. Those who need a daily money maker have better options in that price range and the buy for love crowd is limited and the investor types haven't found them yet. I'd say more like half that would be a good price.

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

A rust free, running good C50 in that condition that can haul 15,000lbs on the bed is worth every penny of $7,000. When I was searching for mine to buy for months online I saw a lot of rusty junk that was going for more than $5,000.

You may be correct, in your sense.
But as the old adage says, Somethings only worth what people are willing to pay for it.

I used to watch people trying to sell their 1980 Trans Am's on ebay(and still do) for $10k, simply based off the premise they are in pristine condition and earlier T/A's are worth $60k, not realizing no matter how nice they are they will never sell for that.

...And so they sit on the market for 8 months, disappear, then reappear a few months later again.

It may very well be "worth" $7k, but is anyone in the near future willing to pay it? Probability points to NO, but anything could happen since nobody knows the future.

I agree, but there is also the shop truck for advertisement crowd ( the rolling billboard) that turns heads everywhere it goes.

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

KO341 was asking for a starting point and $7,000 is great starting point, when your selling a used truck and people are throwing offers at you, you can always go down, but you can't go up.

After the amount of money I spent on 73 C-10, as nice as that looks. I'd say every bit of 7k

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

That truck looks like it's in great shape! As has been mentioned, the values are kinda' all over the place, depending on where you're lookin'. Around here (Northern California) I haven't seen too many, but pricing seems to go $1500-3500+ nationwide, plus you can add some $$$ if it has a flatbed/box versus no bed. Found this section of Craigslist the other day, might help to ball park things for ya':

http://spokane.craigslist.org/search...evy&srchType=A

In your Craigslist ad', make sure to include the terms "Dually" and "Grain Truck", also maybe "flatbed".

Good luck!

Re: 1969 Chevy C-50

The body of the C50 would have to be really really straight and nice with no rust then 6000-7000 would be OK. I have seen some pretty nice ones (mostly out west) in the $2500-3500 range.
