I got one out of an older s-10 but took it out because it was falling apart. It was the right height and looked good though . I will try to get some pic's today.

Thanks! that looks pretty sweet, besides being beat up a little. I'll be going to the local yards to see what I can find. Thanks again.

Here's mine, I made it out of scrap wood and old carpet that I had laying around...It cost me nothing except for the cost of the pencil holders that I used as cup holders It's not professional at all, but it will do for now I guess.

4 - last one sorry as you can tell, you can see all the seams, but that was the only way to carpet it without wrinkles with what resources I had

Sorry, I know its not truck related, but I thought it might open up some other ideas.
I made the template out of cardboard and the shape actually resembles the roofline of the car because its a fastback. The sides were cut out of typical MDF board, then I cut a few pieces of 2x2 and ran them from each side to the other which gave me a standing piece. Then on the band saw i started cutting small pieces of mdf and laying them on top. I cut the top pieces very narrow in the curved sections so the console looks preformed slowly but surely making the curve up and over the hump. Then I took 1/2 round and did the same cutting them in small pieces rounding off the edges. I used bondo to blend the curves, after it dried, i got out my big 7" grinder and put a 36 grit pad on it, it quickly shaped the rough corners ripping thru the bondo and any high spots of 1/2 round. There is actually a french seam that runs along the edges that is not visible in the pics, the console is padded slightly also. The small aluminum bezel in the middle is my air ride digital gauge. You might notice the round console light matches the ac control panel, and being it is a 48 fat fendered car there are no harsh corners on the console. Try to use other shapes in the cab to blend it in and look like its part of the theme and not a last minute idea, like lines in the door panel, dash or seat. The dash and garnish moldings are painted to match the upholstery, PPG single stage urethane with flattener added. the armrests are made of foam, fiberglassed, then bondo'd Anyone recognize those seats? That's sweet Glen. I understand you built the console. Who does your stitch work though? Is that you too?

You are a very talented man glen. I thought I acomplished something when I carpeted from the top of the firewall and up over the gas tank with one big section of carpet. I think i'm going to take a stab at building my own.
If anyone else has pictures of their setup post them please! Thanks, Billy

No, the "other Glen" does the stitchin. A close friend Glenn Kramer in Glendale Arizona does the upholstery. We have known each other for a while so i was involved in the process. I have some of his work on my site too if you wanna see more.
