Brake pop when backing up

Truck brakes fine in fwd and reverse, but when in reverse and brake is applied, and then let up, I get a grabbing/popping sound. Panhard bar, control arms?

Re: Brake pop when backing up

Can you tell if it is coming from one side or the other? I'd take the affected side drum off and look at the brake shoes and other hardware. Maybe something broken in there?

Re: Brake pop when backing up

I had a problem that years ago on my Suburban. It ended up being a bad wheel cylinder in the rear.
