project from Palm Harbor FL

Hey there fellas. My name is Korey and ive been snooping on this forum for quite awhile and finally decided now is the time to register on here.

So here's the story of this truck as I know it. First this truck was my great gramps' who lived in Altus Oklahoma and then it was handed down to my father. over time my parents had moved to lakeland FL.
My father sold the fleet bed for a utility bed and used the truck as a work truck. Then around the time I was born (1994)the truck began to see the road less until she was parked for good since the early 2000's because the breaks were locked up and my dad just didn't have the time for it.

so... for the past year or so ive been getting interested with cars and trucks, more particularly with the classics. one day I remembered about my dads long forgotten truck and ive been begging him to let me fix it since then.

Just a few weeks ago he finally let me call the landlord of the house the truck has been sitting at (was my step moms small business in 07)
I met up with the landlord and told him how I wanted to fix the truck and he brought up how he has a garage for rent just around the corner of the street.
I ended up making a deal with him to rent it out for 150 a month.

So there you have it! a new life for an old truck.

Re: project from Palm Harbor FL

Me and my friend managed to get the engine running last week after I rebuilt the carb and he cleaned the points on the distributor. I am currently redoing the whole break system. I have the hard lines set up, all I have left is the rubber hose for the axle and then I can have working breaks!

a new gas tank is needed. for some reason the gas cap was missing leaving the tank open to the elements.

although today I slapped on a new water pump!
