how to adjust vent window with new seals

So I had Precision replace my vent seals and the passenger side is dead silent. Driver side, not so much. I can see that it doesn't seat as deeply in the seal and assume that's whats causing the issue. Is there a way to adjust them?

Re: how to adjust vent window with new seals

odds are your vent latch is just worn out or bent slightly. Either problem is corrected by replacing the latch assembly.

Latch is new and not worn out. It does look as though it doesn't pull in enough though. Does the lower spring pivot adjust at all? Just wanted to ask before pulling the door panel all apart.

Well it was just a suggestion. 9 out 10 times that is the fix. a couple of other things you could check is the wrong seal used in the vent latch anchor to the glass. The is a couple of different thickness seals. Also the vent hinges might be worn.

And you might as well replace the door glass channel and window seals (fuzzies) while you have everything apart.

YouTube has several (maybe several hundred!) videos on how to do the job, some much better than others.

That's what I plan on doing with mine. They have all sorts of bundles for whatever need you have.

Re: how to adjust vent window with new seals

I'm in the process of doing mine using parts from ClassicParts.com. Good prices, fast shipping, and helpful phone support. I think these guys bought Chevy Duty Truck Parts, a catalog vendor from back in the day when you'd mail or phone-in an order.
