has anyone installed other spindles on 73-87's? for big brakes
I want to upgrade the front brakes to something like the NNBS front calipers and corvette rotors like the other aftermarkets (just not spending $1,200 have but was wondering if anyone has installed a NNBS or such spindle onto our trucks. I know the bottom ball joint points down instead of up and likely is not the same.. but just seeing if anyone has done such a thing. I haven't taken my wheel off to look at the dust shield holes but from the ones I've seen it doesn't seem like a lot of material to drill and tap a hole for a 1/2 bolt and one article says 7/16 bolt for the caliper bracket.
I was looking at a 2001 style Ford F-150spindle which as mounting ears for calipers that could make an adapter bracket for whatever caliper.. but the lower ball joint is pointing down. No big deal as far as fabrication goes. The Ford still has a one piece hub/rotor (like the c10) but can easily just turn off the rotor and machine in new lug pattern/rotor register/hub. just seeing what others have done for big brakes hopefully my thought came across as it went into the forum lol...
