67-8 hubcap question

I had one of the board members here[Wiggy HD] find and bring to me from all the way across the state a 68 C10. When I got the truck he had put some nice tires on it so he could load it easier on the trailer. Since it had the new tires I thought I would just get some cap to cover the ugo wheel and I found a set of 67-8 only hubaps. They are the ones that are black mostly with the stainless out side edge and the little red bowtie in the center.
Ok , I've gone through all of that to ask what color black is supposed to be in that cap? Semi, Flat, or high gloss black? I think it should be Semi gloss black but I've never seen a set of these in person that looked like they should when fresh. the paint on these are faded and missing in places so I though I'd put a couple fresh coats on to kinda restore the hubcaps. i have to start somewhere on it right? Re: 67-8 hubcap question

I think semi-gloss is a bit shiny. What you want is a matte finish. It's hard enough to see, let alone explain the differences. But, I really like the Dupli-Color engine enamel in "low gloss black". It was the right sheen and surface. You don't want it flat, which has a coarse surface and you don't want any shine/reflection. But you do want it to wipe clean and that's this stuff.
