Anyone done one piece side windows?
Alright I wanna delete the vent windows in my 66 C10. No limit used to make a kit but discontinued it. (I hear poor fitment was an issue) Has anyone done it? I love the look and want to find the best way to accomplish it.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I have not done the conversion yet, but here are some links to a couple sources.
http://www.vintageglass.com/index.ph...oduct_list&c=6 http://www.classictruckglass.com/ind...kits-19601963/ There are a couple members here that have done the conversion. I will have to see if I can find the threads.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I did it. It was a PITA and I wouldn't do it again. When you extend the width of the glass to the full width of the door you have to move the forward vertical channel to a location which interferes with the door check.
I used late model F-150 door checks that work opposite of the stockers. The results are satisfactory but more work than what's worth IMO. |

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
in a perfect world (if such a thing actually exists ) and all seals and such were in perfect order. Then there would only be the slightest difference in noise between vent/window combo and a one piece. But you have to really have good seals all around. The one piece window is more of cosmetic upgrade. Nothing wrong with that, I too like the look. But if done right and the effort is put into getting the seals done right you wont see much in a noise reduction. Problem is that seals are not perfect and getting them there takes a lot of work so it is sometimes easier to just eliminate the seals. LOL

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
Yes the '60-'63 doors and windows are completely different. I saw that when I posted it, but a guy could still contact them and see if they happen to make a conversion for the '64-'66.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I helped my father do them in his 57 pickup. It was a ton of work. Personally I like the vent windows and floor vents. They're one of my favorite things about these old trucks.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I have done this mod and hate it, even though it looks good the operation isn't the best. The kit is complete but the fitment isn't the that tight. im going to go back to stock.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I put a No Limit kit in my 66. Their instructions were very vague and it took a long time. Easily 40 hours it took me on each door, and the second one took just as long as the first. I put a list together of tips and things that worked for me. Send me your email and I will forward it to you if you like. It takes a lot of foul language and messing around, especially for alignment. They work good now, after a lot of patience. I really like the look, but wind noise really didn't change.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
I'm in the process of doing one piece Windows on my 64. I do have a huge advantage. My best friend is an automotive glass master. We have mocked up the drivers side with laminated glass and all the channels are installed and it rolls up and down smooth. You have to remove some metal webbing (reinforcements) inside the door. Check out the video and let me know your thoughts.

Re: Anyone done one piece side windows?
Looks good and seems to move freely. Did you use the original window regulator?
