Can any one tell me if this vin was an original 4wd or if it was converted some where down the road. 3A580109854

Re: vin decoding
3A is 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton. NAPCO 4 WD would have been added by the dealer. Easiest way to tell is napvo cast in the front axle and divorce transfer case. Post pics.

I haven't had a chance to get back to the truck yet. My buddy has it. We were talking about putting that cab on a frame I am currently using with a 62 cab on it. But if it turns out the truck is a napco I'll rebuild that

Re: vin decoding
From the photo of the blue truck the front axle sticks out farther than a Napco and it has 1972+ steel wheels (same I have on mine with 74 axles). Post a photo of the housing differ cover and axle ends. The Napco is stamped on the front of the long axle side, has a round differential cover, closed axle end joints and drum brakes. The transfer is a divorced style (see photo).

The axel on this truck does seem to have the newer style hub so I doubt it's a napco and the original front in but I'll check anyway. Thanks for the info
