LWB Sportside question

I have found a very nice 6cyl LWB Sportside and may buy it and redo the interior and sell it to help fund my swb stepper build. The truck has 4 speed on the floor, paint is nice and it runs and drive, only rust is a few bubbles on the doors down low. Is there any demand for these trucks? I don't need it but it looks pretty clean and I might be able to make a dollar or two if there are buyers out there. I will have about $4000.00 in it when it's ready to sell.

Re: LWB Sportside question

Sportside is a term the General used to coin the new bed on the [at the time ] new body style truck for 1988. Before that the bed had very little changes mainly fenders since like 1957.
if your asking about the popularity of the long step bed trucks and think your gonna flip one to make some good dollars, it isn't as easy as some guy drinking beer on TV makes it look. if you don't know what is going on you can lose your shirt. I have been in the car business since 1987 and it isn't as easy as it looks. Sometimes you make money some times you don't but just remember it is almost always fun. I've said a million times if it weren't for money I would have fun every day.But then I am in one of the poorest regions in the country. Jim

Re: LWB Sportside question

Thanks, I've been in the car business since 88, been a dealer since 1998, and yes sometime ya win sometimes you lose, Ive just never dealt with a lwb stepside and wasn't sure I wanted too, but if it will help fund my build I may. I'm going to look at it tomorrow, couldn't get hurt too bad if I can buy it right.

Long steps are not as popular as the shorts, but I like mine because it's different than most you will see on the road. They're not for everyone.

Re: LWB Sportside question

They don't sell fast as they aren't desirable so you may break even on it or make $5 lol Looks good in the pic but being a LWB stepper with inline 6 it's value is a lot lower than fleetsides & of course a SWB stepper.
