Chevy Factory Build Sheet Info

I bought this 1972 Chevy K20 and digging around in it I found along with other things the original customer build sheet.
Here is the links to decode the sheet, I thought I could post my build sheet but can't attach it. To high tech for me I guess.

Re: Chevy Factory Build Sheet Info

What exactly are you trying to do?
Decode the SPID, the option list on the glovebox door.
or
Decode an actual build/broadcast sheet used to assemble the vehicle (often found in the seat or gas tank cover of Fremont truck).

The VIN and model decoder linked is very basic and an expanded version including GMC pickups can be found here.
VIN/Model Decoders

While your linked RPO code list is quite complete and recent very very few are applicable to trucks built between 67-72. GM often reused codes, several times in some cases.

?? Not trying to do anything I was sharing information, I have the original 8-1/2" by 11" Chevy build sheet that the guy who ordered the truck specified what he wanted. For example he did not order the manual chock he had then and they had an option to make that cable a throttle cable, find that on most dash boards.
Of course they used the same codes over and over, why not, that was not the point, the point is I have every detail that made this truck go down the factory assembly line June 1972 in Fremont CA.
I also have the Chevy dealer service order embosser card, they would lay your card down and roll emboss all your info onto any service order.
Yes it's that simple

Re: Chevy Factory Build Sheet Info

FYI: here is the original email from General Motors answering my question on the build sheet decoder, (please note it says 67-72)
I am sure if they had these records that far back they have others for other years.

The reason they provided these links is because they don't have the build information for your specific truck, and the generic info is the best they can do. It was not particularly helpful, since you already know what you have.

I say this to contrast to 1976/1977 and beyond, where you can send the VIN and get the actual invoice, with RPO content and pricing, for that specific vehicle.

Challenge accepted...

Would you like a picture of my '72 Chevy, my '66 Ford, Grandpa's '71 GMC, his '65 Ford, or my neighbor's '91 Dodge?

Re: Chevy Factory Build Sheet Info

I had the factory hand throttle mounted under the dash on my red truck for a little while.

It is intended to be used to increase the idle when using a PTO driven appliance, but could also function as a poor man's cruise control.

I used it that way until I installed a proper cruise system via the service parts kit.

When you submit a post if you scroll down you will see a "manage attachments" button.

Click that and browse until you see the file you want to attach (the build sheet or order information in this case).

If that doesn't work and you would like to email it to me I would be happy to post it up on your behalf.
