Question 62 Paint Code

Any of you guys have the paint identifier pages for a 62? What book are you getting that out of?

Thanks!

Re: 62 Paint Code

You'll find paint codes on Paint Chip Sheets produced by Paint Suppliers on Ebay. Multiple year or single year. DuPont was a direct supplier to Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet Truck Data Book for your year has the codes listed but the books are hard to find.

Re: 62 Paint Code

So does this mean that the trucks only came in a single color in 62? No two-tones?

My paint says 510A, been trying to figure out what the A means.

I do have a Canadian built truck, maybe they put A behind all the codes... eh?

I crack myself up.

Re: 62 Paint Code

"A" was common behind many paint codes.

My 63's are all Baltimore built trucks and all have A after their paint codes.

Re: 62 Paint Code

510 Crystal Turquoise
no two tone, ya Hoser!

In 63 they created a new RPO system. The dealership would enter the desired RPO such as U60 which was the radio option. Once the truck started to be constructed, there would be a letter assigned on the build sheet and other cards and stuff, after the RPO code. The letter would vary according to some factor.
When I did a little search a few years ago, there seemed to be assign a letter according to what engine was in the truck when the radio was installed.

Corvette guys have gotten together and figured out their codes which are different from the trucks. If I knew how to create a spread sheet, I could enter the info and could possibly come up with a pattern.
