69 gas tank? moved to under the bed
Does anybody know if a 40 gallon suburban tank will fit on my 69 shortwide between the frame? please let me know. thanks, Steve

Dave did a thread on installing one in his K series pickup (lwb).

But you will probably need a tank intended for a Blazer like this one. http://ventura.craigslist.org/pts/4970040046.html Remember a big tank is heavy plus the fuel at 6 lbs a gallon.

I had a 72 suburban that had the 40 gal tank pictured above. Tight fit and it would not fit in a short bed.
I have a 71 long bed right now that I installed a 1988 31 gal suburban tank and it fits quit well. A friend has a 67 short bed and he was looking at doing the 31 gal in his but after looking at mine he stated there was no way that tank would fit in his short bed. Here is a photo of the 31 gal in a long bed frame.
