LOOKS LIKE AN AUTOMATIC,4L60E. SEE THE RED DIP STICK AT THE BACK OF THE MOTOR. MY QUESTION IS WHERE DID YOU GET THE HEADERS.. I BELIEVE THOSE ARE HEADERS. ALSO, DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE MOTOR MOUNTS?

I have one in my car, but it came with it
I have changed heads and cam on a buddy's, along with the torque converter too. The cam change is pretty simple. The heads on the other hand aren't quite as easy. This is mainly due to clearance problems in the 4th gen F-body's though, since half the engine is under the cowl. Year one makes some motor mount adapters, and I'm sure others do too. http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=8 I don't think it would be too hard to fab up anyways. One problem you may run into is with the VATS system...the little chip in the key for theft deterant. This can be deleted by using a program called LS1 Edit. You can buy the program yourself, or have an LS1 tuner do it for you. While you're at it you can also get rid of some of the other crap such as the AIR system, rear 02 sensors (if you're going to use long tube headers), EGR, etc. |

If your just thinking about an EFI upgrade, this isn't it. I know things are changing as we speak, but the price to do an LS1 conversion is still pretty high.
You would be much better off going to an aftermarket unit.... |

OK...I don't know didly about LS1 engines.

There are 8 individual coil packs...1 for each cylinder. The bad thing about it is the coil packs set on top of the valve covers, so it's not very pretty, but it does make it easy as you don't have to worry about the firing order, or getting the distributor in the right place. Just plug the sparkplug wire into the coill that's right above it.

The coil pack on the valve cover is different, that's for sure. Most people use the Corvette covers to hide things. They can be made to look good. It just takes a bit of imagination....

Coil packs have their ups and downs. I have them on my Expedition. Anyway, I was looking at the Vette set ups on E-bay and locally, so hopefully something will turn up.

Some people have relocated them to make the engine look less cluttered too. I have fuel rail covers though.
