EEC Fuel System

Gd Evening I'm having issues with getting the 70 c10 to start inline 6 250 . Truck was born in Cali. so it has the eec venting system I dont know if I have it hooked up correctly. It seems pretty straight forward but not sure.
I have rebuilt carb,blew out all fuel lines,put new rubber fuel lines under bed and from frame rail to gas line to fuel pump.When I remove the gas lines they are dry as a bone under cab and by fuel pump. I have about 4 gallaons of gas in factory fuel tank. If I put gas in carb truck starts up so why am I nt getting gas out of tank fuel sending unit is nt clogged tank has been cleaned as well. I need your help please. Thanks in advance!!

Just so you know that long lengths of rubber fuel lines are really a great way to burn your truck down to the ground

Actually the pics he has up are of the vent lines and that amount of rubber is factory or within millimeters of it.

If his rubber was under the hood I'd be worried but not about this.

Where are the bolts that hold your tank to the back of the cab??? I'll bet your tank has been out before, also evidenced by the non factory supply tube from the sender, and was not put back in correctly.

It should have something like 9 bolts and large square washers that hold it to the rear wall of the cab.

A few things can be the issue if you aren't pulling fuel from the tank.

You can have a defective fuel pump, or an issue with the rod it uses to function. Do some research on that.

You can have a dirty tank that clogged up the lines when it tried sucking up the first bit of fuel.

Yes it's ideal to replace any run of rubber hose with hard line, and something you should look into. If you just need to see if your truck is running, don't worry about it.

The first thing that comes to mind here is... you wouldn't have a leak in the hose would you? Yes you can blow air through it, but can you suck gas through it?

Thanks for your help. I tried fuel pump test no gas coming from fuel pump on start up. I will add more gas to the tank and see if that'll do it if not my next thing is the gas line on the frame. I don't want to change mechanical fuel pump until I get gas to it and verify if it is bad or not. I do have all the bolts for the gas tank just wanted to get truck running to here how it runs.

Check to see if the lines are reversed at the fuel pump, also make sure the lines you replaced are reinforced fuel line and not vent tube that will collapse under vacuum conditions.

P.S I saw nothing in your post about running a rubber fuel line up around the exhaust manifold to the carb, I'm assuming this is what downs is concerned about.

Ok. I managed to get gas to manual fuel pump and no dice fuel pump was shot. Purchased another fuel pump got the part installed truck started up on the 1st turn of key and ran for about 1 min with my foot on the pedal. I finally let off the gas engine died took a look at engine bay and gas was all over, so I managed to get everything cleaned up tried starting engine again no luck just kept cranking took a look at engine bay again and noticed the gas was coming from the fuel inlet that goes to the carb (Roch Monojet). I have rebuilt carb but I'm a novice so something cnt be right. When I start the engine it just cranks and gas leaks/drips from that area. Please help.
