Very nice! The white is a little boring but the condition is outstanding. This has Joesjunk written all over it

Re: Craiglist Survivor Find

Here's a funny story of me getting my truck painted white.

I had my truck, the one in the avatar, painted white back in the 80s. I told the shop to paint it Appliance white or Butt White. OK, so they painted it white inside and out. I had driven out to a place called Palmdale Calif. They had good pricing.

I went to pick up the truck my brother in-law drove me to get it. It was a warm and sunny day in Palmdale that day.

I swear, I could not look at the truck, it was so bright it was burning my retinas out. No $hit, I really could not look at it, it hurt my eyes.

I remember covering my eyes and saying "Oh my god, what have I done"

But I like it now. It's better than the original color!

Re: Craiglist Survivor Find

I have a question. In the picture there is what looks like black paint around the heater box and brake booster. Is this a factory thing? I've noticed it before on another truck, and thought it was an indication that the truck had been repainted in the past.
Maybe it's just fixing some rust while changing out those parts during it's lifetime? Why would you paint it black though?

Re: Craiglist Survivor Find

That black junk is overspray from the factory undercoating. It was sprayed before the box and booster were installed. My 1972 GMC has it too.
