Ram horn manifold help please
I am looking at used Ram horns and am finding different styles available. Some exit straight down and some are angled. I would assume the angled ones would help with bending the rest of the exhaust pipe but have never seen pairs available where both are angled. Also is the heat riser piece necessary?

THe only time there where angled pairs was for dual exhaust trucks. One down and one angled was single set up.
Heat riser could be necessary if you run your truck in cooler weather. Helps with intake warm up. If you're doing a stock as a rock resto you'd want the riser. Are you running a stock motor or modded with cam, intake, carb etc? |

Stock fuel injected not concerned with needing the riser. Was concerned if there is a flange that will accept the exhaust pipe on the manifold if you don't use the riser.

Can be done.
Muffler shop can set you up. IIRC the angled ones had a recess in the outlet for a doughnut type gasket. |

Straight downs seem easier to find and they can be made to swap side to side.

Cant go wrong with the ones Speedway has that was posted by LVPhotos.. I used two sets - used sandblasted them and brushed manifold paint from Eastwood and they hold up good and they dont leak like headers do! Heres some pics of two builds I used them on and straight dumps is the best way to go for clearance in my opinion..

I use rams horns on my 64 C10 with a 350. Both of mine dump straight down. On the LH side I use a nice used original I bought from a fellow member here, and on the RH side I use a reproduction I bought from Crane's Corvette Parts. I went this route because A) both are the larger 2.5" outlets, and B) the LH side has the correct mounting boss for factory alternator brackets and the RH side has the correct mounting boss for factory A/C. I'm very pleased with the results. Looks good, sounds good, and none of the headaches associated with headers.

I went with Dorman 674-501 because I could get them thru work pretty reasonable..

I used an angled manifold on the drivers side, and a straight manifold on the passenger side. Both have loads of room around them.
