Barrett Jackson Reno Tahoe 2015 Auction

Coverage of the auction just started on Velocity and the first vehicle across the black was

Lot #300.2 - 1970 GMC 2500 Camper Special long bed with factory air, factory bucket seats, big block 396, power brakes and power steering. All original.

They called it a survivor. Hammer price of $3700. Seems to cheap to me but tough to tell from the few pics and limited air time it got.

Lots of GM trucks being auctioned this weekend. Will try to update sale prices as much as I can (as I am laid up with a bad back)

Very reasonable price, actually a steal if it is as good as it looks

Re: Barrett Jackson Reno Tahoe 2015 Auction

Next truck just sold for $8000 hammer price, again seemed cheap. Looked good on tv. Stated to have a 2 speed powerglide...

Lot #308.1 - 1968 Chevrolet C-10 equipped with a 327ci V8, automatic transmission, power steering and ice-cold add-on air conditioning. This truck was restored many years ago and has been used as a car collector's weekend hauler ever since. The truck runs and drives great.

I could go for either 1, top 1 seems to be 3/4 ton, not as popular for some reason

402 was introduced in 1970. I think I've read where a 71 had a 396, right to the SPID.

That truck above doesn't look to have "Cheyenne moldings" to me.

Yep and I'd want complete stainless steel wipers for 35k. Looks sweet though .

Re: Barrett Jackson Reno Tahoe 2015 Auction

Lot #421 - 1968 Chevy C10. This truck has been driven less than 100 miles since the completion of the restoration. This truck was a complete frame-off restoration that has been professionally restored, it was painted Chevy Hugger Orange originally with a new steel cowl hood. It has just completed a new spray on bed liner. It's driven by a recently rebuilt Chevrolet 454 that has been bored out to a 465, topped with a Weiland Stealth intake manifold and a correctly jetted Edelbrock 750 carburetor for maximum performance and drivable. This truck comes with headman headers and a new duel exhaust; it also has a newly rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission with a 12-bolt modified limited slip rear end. There is a new gas tank that has been relocated under the bed. With a big motor you need stopping power, this C-10 is equipped with a new CPP Master cylinder with new power front disc brakes and new rear drum brakes. It has power steering to move the brand new 20" rims and 275/40 R20 tires. The new carpet and interior starts with a new gage cluster with the factory tac and vacuum gauge, tilt steering column and bench seat. This C-10 is a rare factory air conditioned truck with in-dash factory air vents. It has an aftermarket Alpine stereo installed with speakers in the kick panels.

Sold for $26,000

I agree. The heater and a/c delete doesn't appeal to me and could have been done a lot better. Not sure if the inside of the box was painted black or a spray-in but a colour matched spray-in would have went a long way. But still a good looking truck.

Lots of GM trucks being auctioned this weekend. Will try to update sale prices as much as I can (as I am laid up with a bad back)
That's crazy. I know a guy who buys and sells cars on the higher end. He took 3 cars to this same auction the first year they were in Reno. Lost $40,000 on those 3 cars. He said it's a great place to buy, but not to sell. I guarantee that guy who sold that first truck had plans to make at least double that. They B.J. commission comes out of your end.
I could never put one of my babies in an auction that you could not put a reserve on it. no way.

I remember that Craig Jackson has put some of his familys cars and some of his personal cars up for auction at different times and they all had reserves.

Yeah, I think they may be a little more flexible on the rules with him, maybe even close friends, but general public, no reserve allowed.
